Snowed In and Creatively Stuck: When Winter Slows Down the Hustle

Today was Toronto’s first major snowstorm of the year—hello, 25cm of snow. 😳 I’m officially snowed in, staring out the window like I’m in a dramatic indie film.
From inside, it’s actually kind of beautiful. The city slows down. Buildings fade into a white haze. Snow piles up on the balcony railing like a fluffy wall. And every now and then, the wind gives my windows a good shake—just to keep things spicy.
But let’s be real… productivity? Down bad. 🫠
Lately, it’s been so hard to find motivation to keep my art business moving forward. These gloomy, gray days just make everything feel heavier—especially the pressure of wearing all the hats.
Can someone please invent a magic button that lets me:
✔️ Make art
✔️ Take the perfect photo/video
✔️ Write a catchy caption
✔️ Add SEO-friendly tags
✔️ Pick the trending audio
✔️ Schedule it for peak engagement
…in one single swipe? 😩
Because the behind-the-scenes of being a creative business owner is a lot. And while I love what I do, sometimes I just wanna paint and have the rest take care of itself, you know?
If you're a creator feeling this too: You're not alone.

Winter burnout is real. The algorithm pressure is real. And trying to do it all can sometimes suck the joy out of the thing you love most.
So today, I’m leaning into the slowness. Watching the snow. Letting my creativity recharge. And reminding myself that not every day has to be a productive one.
Above is the wise whale reminding us to take things slow and ponder.🐳
Let’s Be Creatively Lazy (Sometimes) Together 🎨❄️
I’ll be sharing more of these cozy updates, real talk, and art process videos over on my socials:
